MAXIM LICHTENWALD

Maxim LichtenwaldI was born in Russia as second child of veterinarian parents in 1986.  In 1994 we migrated as repatriates to Germany. After two camps we were assigned to the final camp in Nohra near Weimar where we lived for three years.  Learning German was quite easy for me in the age of 8, but not for my parents, whose diplomas were not recognised.  In 2005 I graduated with level A and went abroad shortly after that as alternative military servant in Jerusalem.  The one year Jerusalem experience gave me the opportunity not only to see dozens of different cultures but to figure out my study goal.  After a great stencil street art time I jobbed part-time in a commercial grocery store in 2006 and began to try out other art media such as stop motion and typewriter art.  During my study of visual communications from 2007 till 2013 I experienced photography, filmmaking, music performance, print etc., yet mostly fine arts.  Luckily I had the chance to present my works in solo exhibitions, such as entre imaging y la poesia in Nicaragua 2009, Werkstücke I under the grant of Galerie Eigenheim in Weimar and Werkstücke II  in 2009 and 2010.  In 2013 I got my diploma and became an employee at XTVLAB in Weimar.
