BEATA MANNHEIMER

My name is Beata Mannheimer. I was born in 1964 in Sweden where I still live with my husband and two daughters.

After school I studied international economics with marketing and french as a language at the University of Gothenburg – School of Business, Economics and Law. In 1991 I got my MBA in international economics and marketing.

After my graduation, I started working at the Gothenburg-based independent production company GötaFilm. I worked there until 1998.

In 1994 I became one of two shareholders of GötaFilm. I mostly worked as FAD and production manager and, at the office, I worked with everything from office admin to budgeting, marketing, script reading etc. I would say I am both creative and quite organised (but not neurotically organised ;-)). I also worked as production manager at production companies for commercials and industrials.

Some years later came the opportunity for me to take the job as head of department for a youth centre, Lava, at the Stockholm House of Culture. We worked with young people (13-25 yrs) and their right to express themselves through film, music and other cultural and creative projects. It was really great.

In 2009 I started working for Filmregion Stockholm-Mälardalen where I work today as a project developer and project coordinator, currently with a focus on children’s films and digital media/cross/trans-media, crowd funding, mentorship programs for women producers, pitching and networking.
