MARCIN MARCZYK

Marcin-MarczykMarcin Marczyk is a film and TV producer with 10 years’ industry experience in development, production and post-production. His work experience covers the Polish and European markets.

He graduated from the University of Łódź (Masters degree in Econometrics and Computer Sciences) and is a post-graduate of the Polish National Film, TV and Theatre School in Łódź (film and TV production faculty).

After graduation he started working for ITI Neovision (one of the Polish digital TV platforms) as a production manager for the War and Peace channel, then worked as head of production for Armfilm sp. o.o. film studio for four years. During his professional career he has also worked as a freelance line producer/production manager for feature films such as Absolute Beginners dir. Piotr Szczepański (2007) – Anagram Film; the animation Le Minuscule dir. Thomas Szabo, Hélène Giraud (in production) – Futurikon/Zielony Pomidor (development and pre-production period); the documentary Maria – life of Maria Curie Skłodowska (2010) – Alta Studio; and many commercials.

In 2007 he founded 2m film studio, which mainly offers production services for foreign producers like Embla Film (Norge) – The Man who knows 75 languages dir. Anne Magnussen (in production) and Lost but Found Film Limited (UK) – K.364: A Journey by Train dir. Douglas Gordon (2011). 2m film studio is also the producer of three weekly TV programmes broadcast by Belsat TV, the first independent Belarusian television station.

Marcin is interested in new technologies and their influence on the art of storytelling. He is developing the transmedia project Spy Games through 2m film studio.. It will be a TV series, connected with an alternate reality game. The project is at an early stage of development.

He is a participant of AppAcademy (http://appacademy.pl) and The Founder Institute Warsaw Spring 2013 (http://fi.co/about) where, under the supervision of FI mentors, he will run a gamified mobile service for tourists involving alternate reality game and augmented reality.
