LAURENT NEGRE

Born in 1973, in Geneva, Switzerland, Laurent Nègre is a French/ Swiss author and director. Graduated in 2002 from the cinema section at HEAD (Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design) in Geneva. He has gathered considerable experience in cinema and publicity in Switzerland, Canada and Spain where he worked for three years with film & advertising company Cinembargo Films. He has assisted in direction and has directed several shorts and two fiction feature films. His 2003 short film Schenglet® received great critical acclaim.

Active in several projects in and out of Switzerland, he has specialised in script writing and development. His first fiction feature film, Fragile, starring Marthe Keller, was released in cinemas and awarded with a National Swiss Award in 2006. His last movie, Operation Casablanca, is currently being released in Switzerland, after theatrical releases in Canada and Morocco.

Laurent recently collaborated with Swiss National TV from October 2009 to November 2011, writing and directing short programmes for the evening news for the “Filmmaker’s Vision” weekly news programme.

As Head of Development at Bord Cadre films, Laurent reads and analyses subjects, scripts and creative projects, suggesting the ones suitable for company development. He follows projects through all stages of development, focusing on content and creative issues.

Laurent has been selected on several occasions for participation in international development workshops such as EAVE, Atelier Grand Nord Focal Transmedia, Dreamago – Meet Your Match, Coproduction Forum Of Namur’s Fiffrome – New Cinema Network: Equinoxe
