with support from the MEDIA Programme of European Union, MFG, Creative Skillset Film Skills Fund as part of A Bigger Future 2, FFA and TorinoFilmLab

Designed to give participants the skills and knowledge needed to create, finance and distribute stories across multiple platforms, The Pixel Lab is the ultimate cross-media workshop for European media professionals wanting to capitalise on the value of their intellectual property.

Selecting up to 20 producers with a project and 20 media professionals without, The Pixel Lab kicked off with a six-day immersive residential workshop, in one of the most beautiful venues in South West Germany, Hotel Traube Tonbach in The Black Forest. Project-focused mentoring was provided by the biggest names in cross-media through a combination of 1-2-1 meetings, case study analysis, group work and presentations.

Participants attending with a project are currently receiving distance mentoring from July – September with leading practitioners, before heading to London for the final workshop and to pitch their ideas to a jury of international financiers and distributors in an attempt to win The Pixel Lab prize of €3,000!

The Pixel Lab is an extraordinary experience. An intensive week with world class experts, it gave our project the focus and boost it needed to progress to the next level, while the ongoing mentoring ensured we brought it to market in the most effective way. The chance to collaborate with some of the best producers in Europe was an exciting opportunity that re-informed the project throughout the course. Power to the Pixel is at forefront of storytelling. The team’s knowledge of innovation and new business models is world leading. An exciting, enriching and very rewarding experience that I would recommend to any producer.

PIXEL LAB PARTICIPANT 2013

Participating in The Pixel Lab is a must. It was a unique opportunity to meet transmedia international leaders and strategic thinkers, to learn from experts, rethinking and sharing my ideas with experienced professionals, and to receive targeted mentoring on my running projects. Also, helping the other participants improving their project, taking some distance with my daily routine and my own projects, helped me to increase my creativity, to kick off new ideas and sparked what I was expecting – to think outside the box. I will highly recommend The Pixel Lab for media professionals to develop their skills and to feel the future of storytelling.
