The Pixel Lab 2012

The Cross-Media Workshop

with the support of the MEDIA Programme of the European Union, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, TorinoFilmLab, Skillset Film Skills Fund, ARTE

The Pixel Lab 2012 brought together 36 European media professionals working across film, broadcast, online, mobile, gaming, and advertising – 18 of them producers who attended with a cross-media project – for an intensive six-day residential workshop that took place just outside Potsdam in July 2012.

Teaching came from the best cross-media and transmedia practitioners in the world who led a mixture of indepth talks, focused project group work, individual 1-2-1 sessions and case study analyses.

Between July and September, producers worked with Tishna Molla & Liz Rosenthal, to hone the creative and business strategies around their projects in preparation for a second workshop that took place in tandem with Power to the Pixel’s annual Cross-Media Forum in London.

Producers were taught pitch presentation skills, attended the two public days of the forum, and finally presented their projects to an august international jury headed by Arts Alliance founder Thomas Hoegh and a selection of invited industry guests. We were delighted to award the £3,000 Pixel Lab Prize sponsored by Power to the Pixel to Bord Cadre Films’ Laurent Nègre for Zeru.
