Writer’s Room – new deadline 9 Feb!

If you’re looking for a hands-on, practical workshop developing a cross-media project, then the Writer’s Room is for you. Brought to you by TorinoFilmLab and Power to the Pixel,  this is an amazing opportunity to work with award-winning writer/producer Adam Sigel on his new cross-media project Sequence.

Based in LA, Adam’s work spans multiple entertainment platforms. He is currently developing projects with John Woo/Tiger Hill Entertainment and Sony Int’l TV amongst others.

There are five places available  to professionals from all disciplines – film, TV, journalism, social media, games, etc. The programme runs over 10 months. Workshop dates are:

9 – 15 March in Helsingborg, Sweden
24 – 30 June in Brignogan, France
21 – 27 November (tbc) in Turin, Italy

Writer’s Room 2012 call for entries – deadline 30 January

The Writer’s Room is a three-week long workshop for up to five participants realised by TorinoFilmLab and Power to the Pixel, focusing on the process of developing a cross-media project within a team framework. With a focus on process, the workshop is intended to develop strategising skills as well as enable a collaborative exploration of cross-media project development.

This year’s project is Sequence, written and being developed by writer/producer Adam Sigel (Afterworld, The Red Book).

Aimed at professionals working across different media platforms eg. story architects, games writers, audience engagement designers, writers (feature film, TV, journalists etc) and producers with experience within cross-media production the deadline for applications is 30 January 2012.

Power to the Pixel is at TorinoFilmLab’s final meeting event

Liz Rosenthal & Tishna Molla are at the TorinoFilmLab’s final workshops and meeting event.

The Writer’s Room, realised in collaboration with TorinoFilmLab and Power to the Pixel, focuses on the process of developing a transmedia project within a team framework. This year’s project comes from Michel Reilhac, Executive Director of ARTE France Cinéma.

Framework will see two Pixel Lab 2011 alumni, Jean-Pierre Magro (The Tower of Fables) and Emmanuel Dumont (Tomorrow Never Knows) and the winners of the 2010 Pixel Pitch Prize, Helene Granqvist and Hanna Sköld (Granny’s Dancing on the Table) present their projects to key industry decision-makers who will be attending this final meeting event.
