Xbox’s Elan Lee and Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys bookend The Conference at The 7th Cross-Media Forum

We are beyond delighted to open this year’s Cross-Media Forum on 15 October with a keynote address from Elan Lee, chief design officer at Xbox Entertainment Studios. Often cited as one of the creators of the Alternate Reality Game genre (works include Nine Inch Nails: Year Zero; The Dark Knight: Why So Serious?), Elan will explore our storytelling journey through cross-media, second screens and interactive narratives with My Mother Has No Idea What I Do For A Living.

We’ll round off our first day with American Interiors, Gruff Rhys’ multimedia psychedelic travelogue incorporating a film, music, book, live performance and interactive project. With an introduction from Nathan Hull, digital product development director at Penguin Books, be one of the first to experience this ‘investigative concert tour’ from the Super Furry Animals’ frontman.

Find out about all the stuff in between and programme information here.

We also have a jam-packed second day at The Pixel Pitch competition on 16 October. Find out what our illustrious international jury panel think of the top eight international cross-media projects selected for this year’s Pixel Market. Hear from head of Film 4.0 Anna Higgs; Ingrid Kopp, director of digital initiatives at Tribeca Film Institute; Iron Sky director Timo Vuorensola and the Guardian’s multimedia special projects editor Francesca Panetta to name a few.

See our list of confirmed panellists here and check back in soon to discover who The Pixel Pitch finalists are.

Buy a combined ticket for the full cross-media package, including your special invite to our Opening Night Drinks Reception on 15 October. The first 150 ticket-buyers will also receive a FREE ticket to a pre-premiere screening of Collider on 15 October.

See you all next month!
