And the winners are…

It’s been a nail-biting end to this year’s Pixel Market at Power to the Pixel’s 6th Cross-Media Forum in London, with 30 international cross-media producers vying for four prestigious prizes.

Selected from over 100 international cross-media projects, brothers Arash & Arman T. Riahi  presented Everyday Rebellion to a jury of 28 leading international media executives and a live audience at The Pixel Pitch competition on Wednesday, to walk away with ARTE’s generous top prize of £6,000 which the broadcaster is sponsoring for a third consecutive year.

The winners of the first ever Pixel Market Comedy prize sponsored by beActive are Catherine Tait, Kent Sobey and Jonas Diamond, producers of SOS: Save Our Skins, who walk away with £2,500 and selection for beActive’s Digital Comedy Lab 2013.

Thomas Langhanki (Experimental Game) & Michael Luda’s (Saxonia Media)  The Slumbers was awarded the Cinekid Pixel Market Prize (4-14 year olds) which includes automatic selection to Cinekid for Professionals co-production market which runs until 26 October, plus return travel and two nights accommodation in Amsterdam.

Finally, the Mozilla Pixel Market Prize for Non-Fiction has been awarded to producer Sarah Arruda of Helios Design Labs, Canada who will participate at the Living Docs hackathon in San Francisco in early 2013, with complimentary flights and accomodation included.

On top of these awards, PttP supports a prize for one producer graduating from The Pixel Lab, an intensive cross-media course that helps European producers and media professionals build sustainable  businesses and innovative practices using cross-media strategies.

This year’s lucky prize-winner was French/Swiss creative producer Laurent Nègre of Bord Cadre Films with Zeru who beat off stiff competition from 17 other producers to win the £3,000 prize.

Congratulations to all of the winners and our thanks to all of the participants who made the event so special!
