Michael Hastings-Black co-founded Desedo Films with Raafi Rivero and has produced all of the company’s content. As a new media and brand strategist, he has consulted for F500 brands and ad agencies and was recently profiled by MSNBC’s “Your Business” for creating a luxury fashion campaign that embraced the marketplace of piracy. Michael is a frequent guest speaker at academic and industry conferences on the topics of race, culture and new media. Prior to filmmaking, he worked as an urban planner and received a BA in English from Bowdoin College.
