Power to the Pixel launches The Pixel Report

Power to the Pixel announced the launch of its new website, The Pixel Report, at its Cross-Media Forum in London. The Pixel Report is devoted to showcasing new forms of storytelling, film-making and cross-media business development that is in tune with an audience-centred digital era. The website is edited by Power to the Pixel’s CEO and Founder, Liz Rosenthal and COO Tishna Molla, who have teamed with Michael Gubbins as the website’s Contributing Editor.

Featuring a variety of cross-media case studies from around the world,  tools and services being used by producers and content creators to enable new storytelling mechanisms to engage audiences,  as well as weekly comment and analysis from Power to the Pixel’s friends and collaborators, PttP will also publish regular reports centred around cross-media business developments.

ARTE Pixel Pitch Prize Winner Announced

Power to the Pixel’s first ever Pixel Market has now come to a close.  Out of the 18 international teams selected for the market, 9  went through to the competitive section, The Pixel Pitch, held on 13 October at the BFI Southbank. The teams presented a diverse range of cross-media projects in front of an international jury of top media executives, financiers and commissioners, and a public audience of over 350 delegates.  One winning team has just walked away with the £6,000 ARTE Pixel Pitch Award.

Power to the Pixel is delighted to announce that the winning project is Granny’s Dancing on the Table from Sweden’s Helene Granqvist of Good Film and Hanna Sköld of Tangram Films. The project is a coming-of-age fairytale spanning film, gaming, live events, interactive and publishing. Watch their winning presentation here…

Cross-media is rapidly heading towards the mainstream because it is in tune with the realities of audience behaviour in a digital age – that was the key theme of this year’s Power to the Pixel Cross-Media Forum in association with the BFI London Film Festival.

Mike Monello, Co-Creator of The Blair Witch Project and Co-Founder of creative agency Campfire said: “We are not at the cutting edge…we are trying to catch up to audiences.”

Young audiences in particular were already immersed in a converged world and already expected to be engaged on their terms – what they wanted to watch, when and where.

The key to cross-media storytelling was essentially social – about connecting. Read More

Watch PttP’s Conference Live Online Tomorrow

There’s nothing like being part of the Cross-Media Forum and witnessing first hand the full array of cutting-edge presentations as they happen live at the Conference.  However, those unable to make it to London should not despair.  Power to the Pixel, along with our webcast partner Kinura, will stream every second of the Conference live right here on Tuesday 12 October from 9.30a.m. BST.
