MANOEL RANGEL NETO President, ANCINE – Agência Nacional do Cinema (BR)

Born in Brasilia, Brazil, Manoel Rangel graduated in filmmaking from the University of São Paulo in 1999. He has attended a master’s course in Communications and Audiovisual Aesthetics. He has been, since 2006, the president of ANCINE, the Brazilian Film Agency, a government agency, whose main goals are to contribute to the regulation, support, and monitoring of the film industry in Brazil. Before then, he was president of São Paulo State Commission for Cinema (2001-2002). He was also Special Advisor to Minister of Culture Gilberto Gil (2004 / 2005) and Deputy Audiovisual Secretary (2004 / 2005). As president of ANCINE, he was in charge of the formulation of Law 11.437/2006.
